Homecoming At Southern Miss

A homecoming at any college is likely exciting and many (including alumni) have been celebrating since Thursday.

One thing that makes this year different is all the elections. Several candidates including Democratic candidate for Governor John Eaves are scheduled to be on campus.

Partisans on both sides have littered the campus and medians with campaign signs.

I'm still curious how Barbour is spending all his money, but I did see this today which explains one small piece:

If you look there is a Barbour sign on this "mobile billboard." I'd never seen a candidate use one before.

Go Eagles!

  1. I know how Boss Hog is spending his money. He is giving it to every other Republican organization and PAC in the state to run ads against any and all Democrats, such as the death tax hit piece ad against Jamie Franks. Oh yea, and he has folks all over the Delta and the Coast passing it out in 100 dollar bills to black folks trying to buy their votes on election day. Won't work though, he still only gets 5 to 8 percent of them in November if he's lucky.

  2. I doubt that Haley would make the attempt at simple bribery, though I agree he won't do well among black voters in November.

  3. According to an e-mail I received in response to this post Barbour is spending a lot on direct mail targeted at Democrats and Independents.

If anyone can ad or subtract from that please do.
