President Bush Vetoed the Children's Health Insurance (SCHIP) Program Bill Today

Even Barbour said he supported the bill. Bush's ideology is dangerous and hurts America.

  1. I believe Barbour opposed this bill on grounds that MS did not get its fair share.

  3. I assume Bush vetoed on grounds that he asked for $5 billion additional and the Senate added $35 billion and the House $50 billion.

  4. Well it's not like he ever vetoed additional spending by Republicans.

Nobody's going to have their minds changed on Bush at this juncture. They either are against him or pretty darn stubborn.

  5. Barbour opposed the bill which was a compromise.

He explicitly said he was against the compromise.

It was the one that could pass.

  6. Dude Barbour was against it because it raised the tobacco tax by $1.00 that's probably the real reason.
