Daily Journal: Childers responds

Today's Daily Journal featured an article on the embittered MS-01 congressional race. I think we all know about the ad and Rev. Wright, and have our opinions one way or another. Childers responded to the attack ad with these nuggets.

On Rev. Wright:

"The only pastors that should be relevant in this race are my pastor and the countless church leaders across North Mississippi that are the backbone of our communities," Childers said.
On Obama and Wright's relevance to Mississippi:

"But this race is not about a senator from Illinois or a pastor from Chicago," he added. "It's about the people of Mississippi. It's about right and wrong. And the way Greg Davis is running his campaign is wrong."
On the supposed Obama endorsement:

Today, Childers is releasing a new TV ad saying his family "has heard the lies and attacks linking me to politicians I don't know and have never even met." (empahisis mine)
and:

"Let me tell you what kind of endorsements we're looking for ... endorsements from the working people of North Mississippi, working families," Childers told a Memphis TV station in a story about the attack ad.
Let's show our support at Cotton Mouth for Travis Childers and change by donating to the Childers for Congress campaign.

  1. I still feel like he is distancing himself but I guess any Democrat is better than Greg Davis

  3. If he had put that or something similar in his ad that would be something I'd agree with but instead he says it is an attack to be linked with democrats

Though i dont agree with his approach ill still rather have any Democrat over Greg Davis

  4. It's disgusting to see the extent that the RNCC will go to protect a seat that they view to be theirs.
People in this part of the state don't tolerate those types of attacks on their politicians.

Travis Childers is a good man and doesn't deserve any of this. Greg Davis ought to be ashamed of himself.

  5. This is unreal. This very blog had the Obama endorsement, called it an endorsement and was bragging about it for days afterwards. And is now pretending like it didn't happen. Unfreaking believable!

  6. What part of there was never an official Obama endorsemnt do you not get. Yes we said there was one, but we were wrong and have explained so. If you to read the thread above called "Childers video misunderstood", you will get it. The Childers campaign has had zero contact with the Obama campaign, period. So what if we got it wrong, the facts remain constant.
