Mississippian tops Americana charts

This isn't politic, but we all like to see Mississippi shine.

According to the Daily Journal, Paul Thorn, a Nettleton native who is making it big in the music business lately, has just reached number one on the Americana charts for his song "Long Way from Tupelo." He recently performed on "The Conan O'Brien Show," but they don't allow their videos to be on You Tube.

However, here is the song when he performed it at the New Daisy Theatre in Memphis.

Congrats Paul!

  1. I saw him open for JJ Cale in Atlanta and he was much better than I would have imagined, considering the previous memory was the whoppin he took from Roberto Duran.

  4. Paul Thorn was also an early guest on Oxford's "Thacker Mountain Radio Show"- before it was broadcast on Mississippi Public Broadcasting. His song "Mission Temple Fireworks Stand" is one of the standout tracks of the 2002 double CD of Thacker Mountain highlights.
