Democrat? Need Work? Musgrove is Hiring.

Former Democratic Governor Ronnie Musgrove is trying to put together some folks should he decide to run for Senate.

I hope Mike Moore runs and Musgrove decides against it. If Moore won't run then I hope he finds some good people and a better strategy than he had 2003.

  1. I'm not sure I can blame Musgrove much for 2003. He had a bad economy, which is never good for an incumbent, and then Barbour was practically Gene Hackman in Welcome to Moosepoint. "Gee, I oversaw the Republican takeover of Congress in 1994... Now I think I'll go to Mississippi and run against a vulnerable incumbent governor!" In some ways I'm kind of surprised the election was as close as it was. I would not want to be the man running against Haley Barbour for anything.

  2. Barbour had his vulnerabilites. Musgrove did his best I think. 2002/2003 for Democrats was what 2006 was for Republicans, a very tough political environment. Musgrove ran a solid race, just came up short.

  3. Head, I'm a few days late on this, but if you mention Haley Barbour and Gene Hackman in the same breath ever again, then I will come find you.
