Governor Ronnie Musgrove At Choir Practice

How people spend their time reveals their character. Whether it was coming to the Coast dozens of times after Hurricane Katrina to help in a private capacity (and without media coverage) or being one of many in his church's choir. Governor Ronnie Musgrove shows character.

  1. I don't think he chose what they were going to show, but this is good. I understand they've added some staff and they (Musgrove campaign) should have some good suprises for us soon.

  2. because this worked so well for John Arthur Eaves, Jr.

  3. When the Lord spoke about being a humble servant and washing your neighbor's feet, I don't think he had Ronnie's technique in mind.

  4. Why doesn't the video play?

By the way, I think it is practically sacrelige to use your church to shoot a video in order to gain politcal stature.

As a member of First Baptist Jackson, where former Gov. Musgrove sings in the choir, I think this is ridiculous and downright rude.

Does it mention that he leaves the choir halfway through the service to go sit with his new wife Melody?

  5. Wow, that's kind.

Like I said, I don't think he chose what they were going to show. I suspect they had a film crew follow him around for at least a few days.

Check out his website and tell me he's running his campaign like JAE.

Liz, I think you should calm down. Have you seen Harpers' ad?

Did you speak out against it?

Also, why is it a problem he joins his wife, just curious.

  7. And apparently this video has been removed. If anyone has a copy of it I'd love a copy (by e-mail) or a link.

  8. Liz's comment follows with a comment concerning the candidate's wife removed. Attacks on family members (or attempts to stir the same) are not welcome at Cotton Mouth.

    ...................................................................

How was it unkind? It was the truth!

And about Gregg's ad. It showed his choir--which looked like it was a set-up (aka not real)--but it was only for fewer than four seconds. It was not even the main focus of the ad. That is totally different, Mr. Leek.

I do think it is ridiculous for him to leave the choir. It shows that he has only become a member so his face can be on TV every Sunday morning and to get publicity. If he were really a dedicated member, he would sing during the entire service.

  9. Liz,

Apples to Oranges sure, but the video (no longer up) wasn't actually broadcast anywhere. It wasn't an ad and it wasn't produced or approved by the candidate. It only appeared online so I'd say it was the lesser of the two.

I somehow doubt that appearing in the choir has a major political benefit.

  10. I'm not a Musgrove fan, but it's not really any of my business where he goes to church or who he sits with. That is completely irrelevant to the fact that we are the poorest state in the union, we have the highest rate of obesity, heart disease, our education system is in shambles in many areas of the state, and on and on.

We need change in this state, and in the rest of the country, and I want to know if Musgrove is going to make those changes, or be like every other candidate out there.

  11. What did Bill Clinton do when he was no longer governor of Arkansas? He joined the biggest church in Little Rock's choir and got his picture on TV every Sunday. A few years later, he was president.

I think Ronnie thinks the same will work for him.

By the way, what was wrong with my remark? It was true, and everyone already knows about it anyway...
