Travis Childers Opposes Columbian Free Trade Agreement

Childers Calls on Davis to Take a Stand on Protecting Mississippi Workers

From a press release:

Prentiss County Chancery Clerk Travis Childers, Democratic Congressional Candidate in Mississippi's 1st District, today announced his strong opposition to the Columbian Free Trade Agreement sent to Congress by President Bush. Childers called on Republican Greg Davis to tell voters he will also stand up for Mississippi jobs.

"The people of North Mississippi are hurting and the last thing we need are more unfair trade deals that send our jobs to other countries," said Childers. "In Congress, I will stand up for working families and oppose trade deals like this one, as well as work to overhaul agreements like NAFTA and CAFTA that hurt our working men and women."

Childers called on his Republican opponent, Greg Davis, to stand with him in opposing the Columbia Free Trade Agreement and protecting Mississippi's jobs.

"I urge my opponent to do the right thing and stand up for the working families of the district," Childers continued. "While my opposition to unfair trade deals has been clear, voters deserve to know where Greg Davis stands on this issue."
