MS-01: Childers wins popular vote, but runoff May 13
Childers leads by roughly 1,500 votes with 99% reporting. The Daily Journal is reporting there will be a runoff on May 13. The RNCC will get a chnave to blow more cash in a district they feel they have property rights to. Times are changing indeed.
I think tonight was better than what we were even hoping for. The polling said that when it's Childers and Davis mono-y-mono, that Childers wins. It was when the other 4 were on the ballot that Davis would lead, and he did not accomplish that tonight.
Dang, we almost took this thing tonight. I still have a headache from all the phone calls I made today.
ReplyDeleteSo close. I know Childers is thankful to all the supporters, and I'm sure it will only get crazier the next three weeks.
ReplyDeleteI know some folks will get on here and cheer about how Childers didn't win out-right tonight, but I know they never thought he'd get that many votes.
SH*T I am cheering because we made a runoff, much less lead in popular vote. MS-01 voted 62% for Bush in 2004, nuff said.

ReplyDeleteChilders is unquestionably the frontrunner heading into the 5/13 race, and the extra campaign time could help him in November. Good work.
ReplyDeleteThe Republicans outspend Childers 2-1? Does anyone know specific numbers on this?
ReplyDeleteWe have to keep or vote energized, for the fourth time no less.
ReplyDeleteI'll be in helping next week.
ReplyDeletePromise.
Wow. this next run is going to be fun.
ReplyDeleteChilders is on his way to DC.
woo hoo.
