Straight From the Horse's Mouth

People likely died due to his actions, he should get jail time, not simply probation and a fine.

  1. Your comment has no basis in fact or logic. He never was found to be the leaker. Indeed, it was Richard Armitage who admitted to leaking the information.

The only way this post makes sense is if you hate Bush so much that you are trying to hang anything on him in order to discredit him.

  2. and he still pays a $250,000 fine and is a felon. That is not exactly small peanuts.

  3. Were beating a dead horse here. Most thinking Americans who bother to vote, even including some of the deep south's most ardent so called "Christian conservatives" that can be counted on to always pull the R lever because of social values, now readily admit that the Bushco regime has been a tremendous, gigantic FAILURE. After this whole Plamegate scandal, it is evident to most Americans that this entire administration is not only completely incompetent, but in fact completely and entirely UN-AMERICAN and UN-PATRIOTIC! They will go down in history as a total and utter failure!

  4. "this means never compromising these rules" - Bush

    He obviously compromised.

Even if he wasn't one of the leakers, he attempted to cover up.

The covert agent was involved in the middle east and her contacts who had been seen with her were likely compromised.

They endangered the security of America for petty politics.

  5. Welcome to the real world. ;-) Powell/Armitage faction didn't like Rummie/Cheney faction to they played the old leak game. Same faction that helped Woodward in his book. YOu know the drill. That is how DC works unfortunately, regardless of party.

WLB: This issue is a non issue with most Americans. you are giving way too much credit to this so called scandal. Katrina, immigration, Iraq, etc have done much more to turn off his base than this ever did.

  6. kingfish - I agree, most people that I talk to that are generally non-political but still kinda pay attention to what is going on see Libby as a "fall guy" so to speak, and don't really harbor any ill-will towards the guy. Hell, I myself almost feel kinda sorry for the guy to come towards the end of his career and end up in this mess.

  7. He never outed anyone, that is just it. He did the same thing martha stewart did and neither one of them should've gone to jail. It just shows how ridiculous laws are getting when you don't commit an actual crime but you go to jail for lying to the investigator. something wrong there.

  8. A fine that will most likely be fodder for fundraising and the label of felon is hardly enough for what is essentially a treasonous act.

Petty politics? Hardly. This was about protecting the deceiptful occupiers in the White House who had wrongfully, willfully, and deliberately betrayed the American people to pursue a never-before-implemented so-called pre-emptive strike against a country that posed no viable threat to the American people.

The threat that Hussein did pose, however, was jerking up and down the OPEC price through limiting or flooding the market with barrels of oil. He ensured the market's relative instability which the Saudis did not care for, to put it mildly.

You remember the Saudis, right? The ones who have been funding Al Qaeda through its maze of so-called charities?

Anyway, I value all the men and women who have given their lives to this country be it in the military or in the service of our nation in the capacity that Ms. Plame provided. Her husband, Ambassador Joe Wilson, is an American hero for telling the world the truth regarding one of the many bogus claims the Bush folks used to betray the American people into spilling blood and bleeding dry our national pocketbook.

OK, I have to get back to tomorrow's piece on A.M. in the Morning! :)
