Democrats Outnumber Republicans Statewide

Despite having the hottest race in the state in the Republican Lt. Governors primary and historically high primary turnout, overwhelmingly the people of Mississippi today voted for John Eaves.

Democratic nominee John Arthur Eaves had twice as many votes as the sitting incumbent Governor Haley Barbour even though he faced only token opposition in his own primary.

This is a good day in Mississippi and a good day for Democrats.

A good point...but don't forget that many people voted in the democratic primary because they had to, or else they would not be able to participate in local elections. I encouraged my grandparents to vote in the democratic primary and support certain local candidates. Come November it will be a different story.

  3. EXACTLY!!! Local elections are almost always democratic. However, people vote Republican in statewide and national elections.
