Mainstream Media Outlet Reports Story We Broke 2 Months Ago

These political reporters need to figure out that not every political story is reported on by the Clarion Ledger.

The Associated Press:
A Republican candidate for Mississippi lieutenant governor has written a check to the Democrat in the race because of a fender bender.

That's right.

It seems after a debate in Harrison County earlier this summer, 1 of Republican Phil Bryant's campaign staff members backed a Toyota sport utility vehicle into Democrat Jamie Franks' 2007 Chevrolet Silverado, bending the side panel of the truck bed.

Franks had the pickup repaired and the Bryant campaign shelled out a little more than $800.

Perhaps if they had did a simple search they would have found that not they, but Cotton Mouth broke the story HEREand HERE including photos of the damage up only days after it occured. The AP may have its reporters, but Cotton Mouth has the goods.

Any news outlet may use the photos or request others as long as they source Cotton Mouth in their story. (not that I expect either)

  2. You did great work on this. Kudos and praises for breaking this long before the Pravda on the Pearl did.
Hopefully, your blog will be a trendsetter in the political news on Mississippi.

  4. It's perhaps vain, but I'd like my readers (the folks reading this comment right now) to know that they are getting the scoop when they come here. It'll make them and myself feel more special. :)

We've also had other firsts before like the change of format at the MPA event for the Governor. It showed his cowardice and no paper in the state covered it. It only garnered a mention a few weeks later in an offhanded comment by one of the members.

  5. Actually, Jamie's truck that was hit was a Silverado. The AP had it right.
