I'd say the production values of both ads were similar in that they are bad.
Still pictures and shading with no original video. I'm just not impressed with either.
This is Jamie Franks' ad which I think is great with original video and content. He has a beautiful family and his parents are great; it really reflects Mississippi.
The "Two Faces" ad and the "Too Liberal" ad look like they were both done by the same overpaid person.
Both are completely ineffective ads. They breeze through their criticisms too quickly for audiences to get any mileage out of them, they're poorly designed, and they come across as mean-spirited. At one point the Mississippi Democratic Party was inviting donations to keep the "Two Faces" ad on the air, and I thought to myself: "Why? It's an annoying ad. If I were undecided, it might tip the race in the wrong direction." The Franks ad is no better.
In contrast, the TV ads of both campaigns are well-done, well-paced, positive, and have much higher production values.
