John McCain's Chief Strategist says McCain benefits from a terrorist attack on U.S. soil

If you have not seen this already, prepare to be disappointed. John McCain while speaking in public is a big enough liability already. The last thing Senator McCain needs is his Chief Strategist out spewing the idea that a terrorist attack would be beneficial to the McCain campaign. Fresh fear works a lot better than seven year old fear I guess. Charlie Black, Chief Strategist for the McCain campaign had this to say in Fortune magazine this week.

"The assassination of Benazir Bhutto in December was an 'unfortunate event,' says Black. 'But his knowledge and ability to talk about it reemphasized that this is the guy who's ready to be Commander-in-Chief. And it helped us.' As would, Black concedes with startling candor after we raise the issue, another terrorist attack on U.S. soil. 'Certainly it would be a big advantage to him,' says Black."

  1. Wow- I can't believe some one said that aloud, and to a reporter no less.
