John Windsor's First Ad

Windsor's Bio Spot

Winsdor faces Rob Smith in the Democratic primary. Smith started with higher name recognition, but has failed to raise substantial funds while Windsor has excelled. He's looking to me like he'll be the nominee.

  1. What is name recognition going to do for you when you can only raise 15,000 dollars? And can Windsor even afford to run a tv ad against his opponent before the primary? He doesn't have nearly enough money to buy a substantial tv spot not to mention he has a LONG way to catch up with Hosemann.

He's raised nearly 150,000 dollars about 10 timse your figure.

He doesn't have to attack his opponents if he's the only one who can afford to go on TV.

  3. Uhm..I was talking about Rob Smith only raising 15,000 dollars http://www.sos.state.ms.us/PDF-Out/000000049515.pdf

You are the one who said he (Windsor) lacked the name recognition Smith had. The best way to increase name recognition is through tv spots (ones he can't afford at the moment) that's not to say he won't beat Smith because he obviously is a better fund raiser.

  4. I accidentally said "against his opponent" but I wasn't trying to say he needs to run an attack ad because that would almost certainly be detrimental.

  5. In the end it looks like we come to the same conclusion. Windsor will be the nominee.

  6. I'm sure he will. Somehow we got sidetracked here.

I doubt this ad is even on tv, because even with 150k he can't afford to run it from now until when it is actually important (August.) So, looks like he's just using you to look like he's up on tv. It's smart, and I can't blame him.
