He probably spend as much time helping the Coast as all other governors in the past quarter century combined. We need a leader in the majority party in the Senate. An issue of the Coast's and state's economic security because the Coast is here so many federal installations, jobs, and contracts that are dependent on our having influence in Washington. We've been lucky to have two good leaders in Senator Trent Lott and Senator Thad Cochran who came along in the Reagan era when Republicans were in charge. Now Democrats are in charge likely for the next generation."
