  1. This is a very interesting and historical day for Mississippi.

I submitted your "minute-by-minute" post to NewSouthNews. It just needs another vote to be published to the frontpage.

  2. I honestly have mixed emotions over this. I think Smith would be been the far better choice, but part of me is happy to see McCoy with another term.

The reason being is that it's going to be fun to see him bumble through another four years. In that time he should effectively cripple the Mississippi Democrat Party.

    BTW, John.

How did your boy Brandon vote? I am sure a vote for McCoy is going to insure him as a one termer in that very conservative district.

  3. hellowwebguy,
Thanks. I'm not familiar with newsouthnews. Who publishes it?

    kingmaker,
McCoy is a very intelligent man an a good leader. Words like "bumble" seem focused on bringing attention to his exterior stroke symptoms which is just low.
I'm sure Representative Brandon Jones voted for the Speaker as he publicly pledged to do. The speaker vote doesn't effect much in the way of elections. Only folks who really already know who they were voting for kept up with the Speaker's race.

  4. John

You see Jones vote for Speaker would not be such an issue in many races. But, in this one it will. Because you know like I do that Jones campaigned as a conservative in his race.

Now you and I also know that Jones is not a conservative, his father is a good conservative man, but he's a liberal. Just like like you, John.

Now he and his father promised a lot of folks in First Presbyterian and the community as a whole that he was a true conservative. This is the first chance he had to prove them that he was what he claimed to be - he failed that litmus test with a vote for McCoy.

I suspect by tomorrow morning that a lot of folks in Pascagoula will know exactly how he voted.

As for McCoy being a bumbling buffoon, that is a direct description of his politics and failed leadership and nothing to do with his physical attributes.

  5. Brandon Jones campaigned as a guy who values public education and public health. He voted for the only guy in the Speaker's race who shares the same values. I guess I'm having a hard time understanding how this represents a moral failure.

And after the job Brandon pulled off in this past election, I look forward to seeing kingmaker climb out of his parents' basement with his team of bloggers to convince the voters in Pascagoula that they were better off with Carmel Wells.

  6. Brandon Jones ran a pro-public education, pro-public health campaign. He voted for the Speaker candidate who stands for the same principles. I'm having a hard time seeing the morl failure here.

At any rate, it should be fun to see kingmaker climb out of his parents' basement in four years to take on Brandon Jones in Pascagoula. Better bring a lunch pail.

  7. I'll respond to both of Harry's posts with one

    1) My parents don't have a basement.

I don't think I'll have to convince anyone to vote against Brandon, he'll do that all by himself.

    2) My parents don't have a basement.
