Musgrove hammers Wicker on his anti-veteran voting record

Roger Wicker, like most of his Republican colleagues, would have you believe he is a friend of veterans and pro-military. We have detailed his abysmal voting record on veterans issues here on Cotton Mouth in the past. As the race for Trent Lott's Senate seat heats up, Ronnie Musgrove is doing his best to make sure the average Mississippi voter understands that words and actions are two different things when it comes to veterans and military issues.

Speaking in Ocean Springs at the Mississippi Vietnam veterans Memorial, Ronnie Musgrove attacked the Wicker record.

"During a political speech in July of this year, Roger Wicker said veterans could always count on him. He immediately left the political speech, went to Washington on the next day and voted against the Defense Authorization Bill," Musgrove said. ..

..."Interim Senator Roger Wicker has a long record of voting against issues important to veterans, including votes against increased health-care funds for veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan and job assistance for veterans returning from overseas," Musgrove said in the news release.
