Supreme Court sets aside court order blocking distribtuion of illegal ballots

Late yesterday, our Supreme Court ruled to lift the court order blocking distribution of the disputed ballots. If anything, this ruling by our state's Supreme Court underscores the importance of the judicial races in November. The Governor has the state's highest court, minus a couple of of members who survived the Chamber of Commerce assault in recent years, in his proverbial back pocket. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce bought and paid for our Mississippi Supreme Court, and this is what we are left with, a Court that rules against the best interests of the people of Mississippi.

Yesterday's New York Times featured an editorial on the dirty tricks being employed by our Governor and his lackey Delbert Hosemann called "Mississippi's Ballot Trick."

Defying state law, they have decided to hide a hard-fought race for the United States Senate at the bottom of the ballot, where they clearly are hoping some voters will overlook it. Their proposed design is not only illegal. It shows a deep contempt for Mississippi’s voters.
Whether or not our corrupt Supreme Court or elected officials think this is fair play is irrelevant. As stated by the New York Times this is a clear violation of the Voting Rights Act. This case needs to be brought before a federal judge immediately.

Mr. Hosemann’s ballot also violates the Voting Rights Act, which requires that changes in election procedures that could make it harder for people to vote — and this certainly fits that bill — be cleared in advance with the Justice Department.
This is not a dispute over aesthetics. Mr. Hosemann’s decision could easily change the outcome of the Wicker-Musgrove election.
The Times called for supporters of fair elections to take this to federal court.

If the state courts do not provide relief, supporters of fair elections should take the case to federal court. They will need to move quickly since time to prepare ballots is fast running out. Mississippi’s voters have a right to a ballot that conforms with the law — and that is not designed to win a Senate seat by trickery.
Haley Barbour and his henchmen will do anything to prevent a fair election from being held, when there is a chance they might lose. These tired politics are being purged from Washington. Don't you think it is time we end this political malpractice in our state?

  1. Take it to Federal Court then! Nothing is stoping you from filing a lawsuit. Do it and quit bitching about it if its illegal.

BTW, the restraining order has been lifted by the MSC. They didnt think it was illegal, but I know what yall think about the MSC, so that will not suffice in your eyes.
