Research 2000 who last polled this state in July has run another set of polls on both the Presidential race and the hotly contested Senate race. Thanks to Daily Kos for commissioning this poll. The poll was conducted from September 8 through September 10 including 600 likely voters. There is a 4% margin of error in this polling data.

The last set of polling data had Wicker with a 52-43 lead, but came right on the heels of an ad blitz by Wicker as he introduced himself to the state. Now the race appears to be tightening. No wonder the Governor wants to hide this race at the Bottom of the ballot. Musgrove is right there and with an improved turnout, could easily win this thing. The campaign needs to hammer north Mississippi, where unemployment has skyrocketed under the free trade deals trumpeted by Roger Wicker. Travis Childers won with a message of economic populism and so can Ronnie Musgrove.
