State Farm Pays Legal Fees for Dale's Deputy

According to his deposition in front of the Scruggs Katrina Group, David Lee Harrell, Deputy Commissioner of Insurance under George Dale, is not responsible for his legal fees. They're being paid for by State Farm Insurance Company.

See the transcript of his deposition at

The subject of interest is on page 7.

I can only interpret this as State Farm paying him to protect them.

You need to do a little more research on this issue.

Harrell says that according to statute, that State Farm SHOULD have to pay for his representation. What statute? Also, the AG's office (Jim Hood) approved Jim Streetman and agreed that State Farm should pay.

Also, because somebody pays your legal bills, that doesn't automatically mean you are beholden to them. Indemnification and Moeller Counsel requires third parties to pay for counsel for others all the time. This isn't uncommon.

It does give the hint of impropriety, and you may very well be onto something, but, this post needs development.

Neither of us at Cotton Mouth is a lawyer so any feedback concerning the fine points of law could certainly be helpful.
