Jim Hood: Protecting Children; Leading the Way

From a press release:
Attorney General Hood Opens “First in the Nation” Cyber Crime Center

JACKSON, Miss.- Attorney General Jim Hood, along with representatives of the Cyber Crime Task Force, officially opened the Mississippi Cyber Crime Fusion Center (MCCFC) today. The event kicked off with a formal ceremony and ribbon cutting and the Cyber Crime Center was open for the public to tour.

“We are the first Attorney General’s Office in the nation where state, federal and local authorities are housed in one location to fight cyber crime,” said Attorney General Jim Hood. “There is strength in numbers, so perverts beware.”

The MCCFC is a coalition of investigators, examiners, prosecutors and educators led by the Cyber Crimes Division of the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office. Cyber Crime Task Force partners include the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office, the U.S. Attorneys Office, Mississippi State University/Center for Computer Research, University of Mississippi National Center for Justice and the Rule of Law, Jackson State University, Federal Bureau of Investigations, U.S. Secret Service, U.S. Postal Inspectors, Hinds County Sheriff’s Office, Rankin County Sheriff’s Office, Mississippi Bureau of Investigations and the Jackson Police Department.

“Office space in the new center has been designated for the use of the Project Safe Childhood Coordinator while working jointly on projects with state investigators,” said U.S. Attorney General Alberto R. Gonzales. “We are hopeful that the cooperation between local, state and federal officials in Mississippi can serve as an example for all of us in working together within Project Safe Childhood.”

The MCCFC is funded through the Attorney General’s Office and a grant from the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ grant # 2005-DD-BX-K035) and Mississippi State University. More details about the MCCFC can be found at www.agjimhood.com.

I remember asking a Republican running for local office in 2003 something to the effect of "Well surely we can at least agree that Jim Hood is the better candidate?" Her response was "No." I hadn't yet grasped how hard-headed a straight ticket Republican voter could be.

In 2003 Prosecutor Jim Hood was the best choice over Scott Newton, In 2007 Attorney General Jim Hood has clearly earned his re-election. Those blinded by partisanship may not be able to see it, but it is the truth and it is why he will be re-elected in November.

  1. Why would you condemn someone for supporting a candidate running against one that (for the most part) has done a decent job at his position? You are doing the exact same thing when you lobby for Eaves candidacy........

  2. :)

It was really just an anecdote of the first time I challenged a Republican only voter to reason.

I have voted for Republicans in the past and I may vote for a couple this year, but I think that in the case of Prosecutor Jim Hood vs. FBI agent? Scott Newton it was quite clear who was qualified to lead the office.

Jim Hood was and remains the best candidate for AG.

  3. Jim Hood is the best candidate for the AG position. He truly cares for the well being of Mississippians. He is an activist for consumer rights (state farm) and child safety (MySpace and Cyber Crime Fusion Center). Republican or Democrat you need to look at the accomplishments of the office during his term as AG.

Have you looked up DAGA, Inc.?

    Are you ignoring it?

I'll give you a hint, Conway Twitty has 300,000 reasons to like them this year and at least 100,000 reasons in 03'.

And it is very difficult to trace from where these reasons come.
