In response to Jim Hood's speech at Hob Nob, calling Al Hopkins a "dues paying, card carrying member of the Mississippi Trial Lawyers Association...."
Lance Stevens, the President of the Mississippi Trial Lawyers in 2000-2001 and the Legislative Chairman of MTLA during the tort reform special sessions states:
"Al Hopkins is a dues paying member of MTLA, last paying his dues in 2007. Other members of his law firm also belong.
Al was a financial supporter during the tort reform era and I appreciated it. Ironically, I have a "star" by his name in my 2000-2001 trial lawyer directory.
When I see him linked to statements trashing trial lawyers, you know, I just have to laugh."
