STATEWIDE
You should watch the races for Governor, Attorney General, and Treasurer for big spreads.
Haley Barbour (R), Jim Hood (D) and Tate Reeves (R) will all win big.
The two races that will be nail bitingly close are the races for Agricultural Commissioner and Insurance Commissioner.
The race for Agricultural Commissioner features scandal-tainted party-switcher Lester Spell (R) and farmer and Democratic activist Rickey Cole (D).
The race for Insurance Commissioner features State Senator Mike Chaney (R) who has taken tens of thousands from insurance interests and former Mississippi Chief Financial Officer Gary Anderson (D). Anderson would be the first statewide African-American elected official.
Though losing at least half of the statewide races Democrats will retain their majority in the State House and regain their majority in the State Senate.
LG & SOS?
ReplyDeleteFirst and perhaps last time I will be on your sight. That is cheap shot on Chaney especially if you do not mention that Mr Anderson is the benefactor of Mr Scruggs. I guess silly on my part to expect more.

ReplyDeleteThese are the races I'm paying attention to, not ALL of the races.

ReplyDeleteWhy did you fail to point out that Gary Anderson has taken almost half a million dollars from trial lawyers that have huge interests in the insurance gig in Mississippi? If elected he'll be a puppet to Big Legal.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't even aware that he'd raised $500,000 from other sources. I haven't looked at the last reports. Let me know.
ReplyDeleteYou weren't even aware!??!
ReplyDeleteCan I even begin to tell you what volumes that speaks--about anything and everything you say.
I can't even believe you admitted it.
Yep,
ReplyDeleteI believe in honesty and transparency. Good liberal values.
Then there are those who hide anonymously on the internet sniping from the sidelines.
Smart move---putting YOUR name to your swipes allows us all to know how ill-informed you are.
ReplyDeleteAhh, perhaps a Lester Spell supporter?
ReplyDeleteIt's a rare breed who find the ability to admit mistakes to be a flaw.

I guess you won't be voting for Haley either.
For ROM,
ReplyDeleteLG - Bryant (After Franks has been buried by a pile of money)
SOS - Hosemann (More likable and far better run campaign)
Auditor - Pickering (Sadly. The name will beat the actual auditor)
John
ReplyDeleteI had always thought that despite our opposing views that you were informed on the issues. But, claiming to no know that Anderson has received hundreds of thousands of dollars from Dickie Scruggs is very troubling.
TY John!

ReplyDelete"Troubling"
Sounds like an ad. :)
It has been hard to keep up with the money, and elections, and work, and go to school at the same time. Perhaps you'll find it in your conservative heart to forgive my oversight.
(+ plus the money went through Citizens for Fair Elections so it wasn't according to the law a donation from Scruggs. It's a loophole that should be closed, but I doubt will, while Barbour is still Governor.)
