Now We Know Why Cochran is Staying Put

Well I think we can clearly see now why Senator Cochran moved back from the retirement leaks and announced that he was running for re-election after all. Not that it matters now, but I highly doubt that it was Cochran's decision to make. He was likely boxed back in by Lott and a Senate GOP already facing more losses and horrified at the possibility of defending two open seats, even in a state that the GOP dominated recently in statewide open seat races. I'll publish more as I learn more. This is a fascinating development for MS politics as a safe GOP seat just got put into play and the GOP's heir apparent, Chip Pickering has already retired, giving the obligatory family values speech. What are they to do? This will be fun to watch!!!
