Fed-Up When You Fill-up

$1.25 for gas... those were the days...

REMINDER: Travis Childers ‘Fed Up When You Fill Up’ Tour Today

BOONEVILLE (Thursday, May 8, 2008) – Travis Childers will temporarily roll back the price of gas – and outline his plans to reduce the skyrocketing cost of gas – today during his “Fed Up When You Fill Up” tour in Mississippi’s 1st Congressional District.

Childers will stop in Grenada, Columbus and Tupelo. He will offer the first 50 motorists at each location up to 10 gallons of gas for $1.25 a gallon – the average price on March 5, 1997, the day Republican Greg Davis voted in the state Legislature to increase the state tax on a barrel of oil produced in Mississippi.

Childers and Davis meet in the Tuesday, May 13, election to fill the unexpired term of the vacant 1st District U.S. House seat.

  2. Travis isn't hopping on the gas tax holiday bandwagon is he?

  3. I'm not sure about his position on the gas tax holiday- I'll leave for someone else to answer.

But, as an update- his stop in Tupelo has been postponed. He is instead going to be surveying the damage from the tornado. He is still going to Columbus, but I don't know about Grenada.

  4. Bardwell. I see your concern, but I know this has been done by candidates from both parties in different races around the nation, so I doubt anybody is going to make an official complaint.

It would be interesting to see their response to that point though.
