MS-01: Two ways YOU can help Travis Childers

Here at Cotton Mouth we have devoted a large chunk of our time to doing whatever we can to help our friend Travis Childers get to Washington. The race is tight, and the polls open Tuesday. That means at 7:00AM on Saturday we will be in the 72 hour window preceding the election. What can you do to help Travis Childers? You can drive up to north Mississippi and help the GOTV effort. If that is out of the question, or just more than you up to doing, we have two other ways to help.

1. Donate to Travis before tomorrow. The Childers campaign said they would be able to use every dollar contributed up until 72 hours before the election. This is your last chance to make a difference before next Tuesday.

2. Phonebank for Travis using this virtual phonebanking center set up by the DCCC. One of our readers gave himself hand cramps from dialing the phone a couple of weeks ago in a phonebanking effort for Travis. Phonebanking is an easy way to help the GOTV effort. If you are a regular blogger, you are probably in your Mom's basement in your pajamas, so don't worry you won't have to change. If you are little nervous about calling strangers, read this diary from Daily Kos - 5 MYTHS about phonebanking.

  1. It currently says "This Campaign Has Ended," but I think that's just their default message when the tool isn't open. Obviously they wouldn't have it open during hours people really don't want to be called. Check back in the afternoon and make those calls!

  2. Yep, I don't think they are handing out digits at 1:00 AM.
