The NRCC made a $350,000 buy today for an ad to be run against Travis Childers.
The new bill brings the NRCC's total expenditures in this R+10 district to an eye-popping amount of $951,203. To put that in perspective, that's 13% of the NRCC's cash-on-hand.
The DCCC has invested $1,143,668 on this race so far.
The amount of money they're pouring into this is getting a little weird. I wonder if they're expecting a big infusion of cash sometime soon.
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely a sign that the electoral landscape is shifting that they're having to fight so hard here.
And, I think, a sign of desperation that of all the close seats they could be fighting for, they think this is the one that's worth betting on.
This is the 50-state strategy paying off for us, IMO. Hopefully some people are watching this and it's confirming the theory that it's best to do everything possible to be competitive everywhere, instead of just targeting big states and swing states.
Making a credible effort to be competitive in all 50 states is an important step toward convincing more people that their votes actually matter.
Thank god for the 50 state strategy.
ReplyDeleteI think the precious NRCC money being spent is for sevral reasons.
1. the black eye of losing an R+10 district, which the good lord willing and IF projections hold tight in LA-06, will be 3 in a row. (IL-14 and LA-06)
2. Obama/Wright referendum in a red district
3. if they win they will have a better chance of raising cash
If we can pull the sweep somehow, they are hurting bad.
