At least he didn't say "hurricane":
"No one could have imagined the tsunami that just crashed on Republicans in Mississippi," Rep. Chris Van Hollen (Md.), chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, said in an interview after the victory. "There is no district that is safe for Republican candidates."
Roger's Excuses:
Wicker, who in the fall faces his own election for the remainder of Lott's term, said that the race turned on "voter fatigue" from the heated presidential campaigns as well as a complicated ballot system that has produced four different races for the seat in the past two months, including primary contests for the general election to be held in November. "It's just very difficult to get people excited," he said. And for anybody who's in the mood to just wallow around in it, here's an image of the front page of this morning's print edition. Watch your back, Roger. Ronnie's comin'.
The feeling in the room last night was that the biggest winner other than Travis Childers was Ronnie Musgrove.
ReplyDeleteThat seemed pretty evident down in Jackson as well. Not only has Wicker never won a statewide race, he couldn't even leave one of the most Republican Congressional districts in the country safely in GOP hands. Ronnie's coming out a winner because Roger is proving to be a loser. Thus far, anyway.
ReplyDeletegood job to all y'all.
