Everyone in the room understood the significance of what was happening. There were plenty of local reporters but there was one from CNN who was talking about the race in a national perspective. There were a couple of DCCC operatives who were busy on their phones even after the race was called.
2. There were a few state party giants there as well, and the general feeling among them and others was relief that we finally defeated one of these "slime machines." Childers talked about issues from the onset. Davis went negative and for character assasination.
In all four elections, Childers led Davis in votes including the last two where they were both in the same field. If/when he beats him again in November, this is going to be borderline comical-dominance.
